The Challenge
Spencer County Tourism needed a way to get people in surrounding areas excited to come to their county during the summer. They're known for their flagship city, Santa Claus, and therefore most people associate them with Christmas time fun.
The Creative and Style
During my time at Oswald Marketing, I helped with the creative and production of this spot. We decided on two summer spots. We started the campaign with a spot, called Summer is a Breeze, about how busy a mom can be and how she often time doesn't have time to plan a summer vacation. Our goal was to drive online traffic to Santa Claus' website to help them plan their summer vacation with ease.
The second spot, called More of This, included a family and focused on some of the fun they can have in Spencer County (or for branding purposes, the Santa Claus Indiana area.) We wanted the feel to be a little lifestyle like and show the family enjoying themselves.
More of This
For this More of This spot, I co-wrote, co-shot, directed, and edited this spot. We had a tight timeline, so getting the variety of shots we needed in a quick and efficient manner was important. I also wanted to make sure the music fit well in the edit to really give a fun family feel.

This spot was shot on a Sony Fs5 with 24mm and 35mm lens. I edited this spot in Adobe Premiere, After Effects, and Audition for the audio.
Summer is a Breeze
For the Summer is a Breeze spot, I co-wrote, shot, directed, and edited. One of the most important parts about getting the feel for this spot was the music mix. I started out with a fast paced piano piece that gives the viewer a since of business and exhaustion on the mother's part. Then when the Santa Claus logo and website is introduced, I changed music to a more upbeat happy tone.
When shooting the footage, we shot quickly using an Aputure 120D bounced off the ceiling for out key light. We shot on the Sony A7iii. I edited the spot in Premiere Pro, created the motion graphics in After Effects, and did the audio design between Premiere Pro and Adobe Audition.
